Predestination of Mankind (UE61)

  'Understanding Endtime'

Your Eternal Inheritance
Eph 1:3-7  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.
Before the foundation of the world God, out of His grace and love for men, had predestined the Word to be made flesh, so that in Christ Jesus all mankind (not any other creation) could be adopted as sons of God through His blood shed on the cross.
Does this mean that all men will become the sons of God?

Man chooses his own destiny
Mat 26:28  "For *this is My blood of the new covenant*, which is shed for many for the remission of sins."
God's grace is a covenant whereby man is free to choose his own belief and destiny. If man believes and accepts Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour, then he fulfills the covenant and he will receive the grace of salvation.
Anyone rejects Jesus, then he has rejected the covenant and the grace of God.
John 3:16  "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

Preeminence of Christ Jesus
Col 1:15-18  He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
In Jesus all things consist, therefore He had fulfilled all the requirement of the law. He is the preeminence, and therefore the whole Bible should be Christ centred.
Jesus was the Word made flesh, so His commandments, words and teachings are supreme and indisputable and supersede all previous law and covenants.

What about the OT?
Heb 10:1  For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect.
Since the law was only a shadow of the coming Christ Jesus and He had fulfilled all the law, then however a Jew submitted himself to the law, he had submitted himself to Jesus.
Examples:
1. When a Jew repented of his sin by offering sacrifice in accordance to the law, then it is just like his repentance to our Lord Jesus with his sin forgiven.
2. When a Jew kept all his commandments and law sincerely and appeared three times a year before the Lord for all His feasts, then it is just like him keeping all the words and commandments of Jesus.
Note it was a blessing for Jews to keep the law, but it is a curse for Christians (with indwelling of the Holy Spirit) to keep any part of the law.
Gal 3:10  For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them."
